Only as strong as…

When I built computers I would tell my customers that the computer is only as fast as it’s slowest component.  I am sure something like that can be said for photography.  My photography is only as strong as my weakest skill.  All of my skills are pretty weak right now, but I would say my weakest skill is my editing.

I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this before the other day.  Instead of having my 55″ be idle watching reruns, it is now my photography professor playing YouTube videos.  I have found videos on everything I have searched for so far, even “compare nikon d7200 d7500”.  When I find someone that have great videos, I can just go to their channel and binge watch a whole series.

I’ve gone through my recent images and am picking an image I thought was ok, but didn’t know how to make it look better.  A project photo to use in Photoscape for my first actual attempt at editing.  Reading this blog is kind of like watching NASCAR.   You don’t typically watch NASCAR so see them drive around in circles.  You watch it for the big wrecks!  My big wreck will be the amateur editing of this photo.  Here is the full untouched image I have chosen for my first project.

On October 30th, 2018 I shot this boulder I found on an open lot, next to the federal building in Seattle, WA where I had my social security hearing.  I knew exactly what I saw from the sidewalk and went in for a better shot.  This looks pretty close to what I saw but it could be better.  I guess stay tuned for my final image…
