Basics of Photo & Video Editing

Don’t let the title of this book fool you…  The last book I read was Photo and Video Editing for Seniors.  I got this book not knowing what programs they were using in the book, but the level it was teaching at.  This book goes into great detail about how to use Windows Live Photo Gallery and Movie Maker and is written for someone that doesn’t have any editing experience or decades of computer experience.  They are free programs that come with the Windows operating systems.

Before we get too deep into the review, this book may not help you much with your photography and it is not just for seniors.  This book would be perfect for someone that has never edited a photo before, young or old.  If you have never edited any of your home videos you’ve taken, or maybe have a couple that you would like to string together, then this book would give you a good foundation.  It outlines the basics of both photo and video editing with free software that comes with Windows systems.  Here are the nuts and bolts:

  • Its a 200 page paperback.
  • Uses a larger print format that is easier to read.
  • Reading the book was like taking a class at my own pace.
  • Includes follow-up exercises to reinforce your new skills and increase your confidence.
  • Perfect for learning the basics of touching up family photos and home movies.

Clicking on the cover will take you to Amazon’s product information page for additional information.  If you are not trying to make money from your photography, there is no reason to go buy any photo editing software.  If you have a Windows operating system, you have access to software that will probably do what you need to do already and this book shows you with great detail how to do it.
