Am I missing out on an income opportunity from my waste? I have about a 1/10th of the logs stripped and already I have two big piles of alder shavings and chips.
I was a chef and know alder wood smoked bacon is amazing. How do they make it? They use seasoned alder in their smokers. I have even served alder smoked prime rib. It’s not a priority this winter, but I could rinse the dirt off, let the air dry off the ground and let them season before this coming grilling season.
All I would have to do is bag and tag them. A bag at walmart is between 2.99 and 8.99 (with possible chemicals added for smoke). I will think on this.
