reasoning
First an explanation. I haven't been writing about my journey lately because I have been seriously busy trying to get my autism evaluation done. In the past when I wrote about my progress, things didn't work out. I figured by keeping quiet I could maintain my focus. Trying to get something done, that seems impossible,... Continue Reading →
Strawberry Moon
Well two black eyes, gash out of nose, golf ball know on forehead, minor concussion and an extremely low heart rate I survived. It sucks, but maybe now they will listen to me when I tell them I regularly that I pass out from pain.
a moonset II
This was a very difficult shot for my camera, the Nikon Coolpix P530. It doesn't have the capability to keep the shutter open long enough to get the quality I want. The camera is fighting to dim the crap out of the moon while struggling to get any light at all near the lake. I... Continue Reading →
a moonset
This morning, before I went to bed, I was able to get a shot or two to turn out without a tripod. I have another one coming from amazon tomorrow. This shot was taken very early this morning. The sun was coming up as the full moon was setting, making a colorful moonset.

Going for the moon…
The featured image is the first decent shot I got of the moon. It was about 54-56% illuminated when I took it last October. If tonight is anything like last night, practically light out, then tonight should be even brighter. Tonight's moonrise is at 18:30'ish, so I should see it pop over the ridge close... Learnt sumthin…
Let's ponder yesterday's shoot. Remembered everything I needed. Didn't run out of battery. Wasn't injured or threatened. Didn't miss the moonrise. I learnt sumthin. The place I chose to shoot from could be described as the mid level of a valley. It was 600' down to the river and almost 1200' to the top of... Continue Reading →
Where did the time go?
Ok, this is a scheduled post. Only because I lost track of time and needed to hurry to get setup, if i wanted to catch the moonrise over Rattlesnake Ridge. The ridge is right around the foothills of the cascades and might yield a few good shots. Fingers crossed, I have a mile to hike... Continue Reading →
